CKD STAGES
🔴 Stage 1 Chronic Kidney Disease:
Stage 1 of chronic kidney disease is rarely ever diagnosed or discovered on its own. At this stage, the person suffers from kidney damage but his GFR rate remains normal 90 ml/min or higher. There are no symptoms at this stage, and the disease is generally discovered by accident if the patient is tested for other chronic diseases like hypertension or diabetes. Other chances of detection can be revelation of kidney damage during ultrasound, protein or blood in urine although presence of blood in urine is generally assumed to be indicative of urinary tract infection, and presence of protein can be calculated by testing urine samples, presence of high amount of creatinine or urea in blood and so on.
If chronic kidney disease is discovered at this stage, a person can have a long, and healthy life if he/she takes proper medication to slow down the progress of the disease as well as changes his/her lifestyle to be more kidney friendly.
🔴 Stage 2 Chronic Kidney Disease:
Stage 2 of chronic kidney disease is rarely ever diagnosed or discovered on its own. At this stage, the person suffers from kidney damage with a slightly lower GFR rate ranging between 60-89 ml/min or higher. There are no symptoms at this stage, and the disease is generally discovered by accident if the patients is tested for other chronic diseases like hypertension or diabetes.
If chronic kidney disease is discovered at this stage, a person can have a long, and healthy life if he/she takes proper medication to slow down the progress of the disease as well as changes his/her lifestyle to be more kidney friendly as well as plans for regular blood protein and creatinine tests.
🔴 Stage 3 Chronic Kidney Disease:
At Stage 3 of Chronic Kidney Disease, the GFR rate ultimately comes down to range between 30-59 ml/min with moderate kidney damage. The body starts showing symptoms of kidney failure like the rise of uremia or waste material in the blood. A patient at this point may develop anemia, high blood pressure, have swollen feet and legs, bloody/dark/orange urine, back pain caused by pain in kidneys, sleeplessness and restlessness due to muscle cramps. If a patient has already reached this stage he/she must immediately consult a doctor and start on medications to slow the development of this disease, at this stage the patient also requires major lifestyle changes.
🔴 Stage 4 Chronic Kidney Disease:
At the 4th stage of Chronic Kidney Disease a person suffers from extensive kidney damage with the GFR coming down to range between 15-30 ml/min. At this stage the patient suffers from the rise of uremia in the blood and may even suffer from the deposition of uremic frost on the skin. Unique symptoms apart from all the symptoms mentioned in stage 3 of the disease include nausea or vomiting, swollen face especially in the morning, loss of appetite, metallic taste in mouth, foul breath because of the presence of ammonia deposits in the body, confusion and lack of concentration. If a person has reached this stage, they are already very close to kidney failure, they must consult a doctor as well as a dietician for a strict diet plan.
🔴 Stage 5 Chronic Kidney Disease:
Stage 5 is also known as end stage renal failure, at this stage the kidneys have lost nearly all their function and the GFR level has reached below 15 ml/min. A patient at this stage can survive through regular dialysis for some time but would eventually require a kidney transplant for further survival. Symptoms of this stage include all the symptoms from all previous stages along with tingling of nerves, skin pigmentation, change in skin colour and so on. At this stage, it is advisable to entrust the patient’s complete care to a nephrologist.

Love your Kidneys
𝗟𝗢𝗩𝗘 𝗬𝗢𝗨𝗥 𝗞𝗜𝗗𝗡𝗘𝗬𝗦
🔴 𝗟𝗘𝗦𝗦
● Salt:
A high salt intake has been shown to increase the amount of protein in the urine which is a
major risk factor for the decline of kidney function, resulting in higher blood pressure.
Kidney Killer Foods: https://youtu.be/B8NhGtoBbE4
● Junk foods:
Eating junk and fatty food regularly can cause damage to your kidneys.
Accumulation of sugar or salt in the blood can lead to diabetic kidney disease.
● Smoking:
Smoking was independently associated with an increase in serum creatinine.
● Stress:
If you already have heart or kidney disease, then the body's reactions to stress can become
more dangerous. Stress has been shown to be associated with CKD risk factors such as
hypertension, diabetes, or obesity.
● Alcohol:
Alcohol causes changes in the function of the kidneys and makes them less able to filter the
blood.
● Processed foods:
Processed foods are significant sources of sodium and phosphorus. Many people who have
kidney disease need to limit phosphorus in their diets. Some studies have shown that high
phosphorus intake from processed foods in people without kidney disease may be harmful to
their kidneys and bones.
● Saturated fats:
Example: butter contains saturated fat, which increases your risk for heart disease.
● Sugar:
The higher the blood sugar, the more sugar comes out in the urine. If your kidneys are
normal, this usually isn't a problem, but if you have diabetes, too much sugar can cause
kidney damage.
● High fat foods:
If you have kidney disease, it's important to check the food label to make sure the pasta suits
your nutritional needs. Certain pastas can have different nutritional content. For example,
some pastas can have varying amounts of salt or sodium. They can also be made with eggs,
which contain protein.
🔴 𝗠𝗢𝗥𝗘
● Fiber:
High intake of dietary fiber is associated with decreased inflammation and all-cause mortality
in patients with chronic kidney disease, according to researchers.
● Exercise:
Exercise also makes your muscles stronger, which helps make your bones stronger. This is
helpful because kidney disease sometimes weakens bones. Frequent aerobic exercise can
also help lower high blood pressure.
● Fish:
Accumulating evidence proposes that the fish oil-derived bioactive fatty acids, particularly
EPA and DHA, provide a host of multiple health benefits for patients with advanced kidney
disease.
● Fruits and Veggies:
Some of the healthiest foods for people with kidney disease on a renal diet or kidney diet are
fruits and vegetables low in sodium, potassium and phosphorus.
Why Soluble Fiber is important for your Kidney Health: https://youtu.be/9OHDz9O-Bj0
● Sleep:
Poor kidney health can also lead to poor sleep.
Kidney function is actually regulated by the sleep-wake cycle. It helps coordinate the kidneys'
workload over 24 hours.
● Whole grains:
Bulgur is a whole grain wheat product that makes a terrific, kidney-friendly alternative to
other whole grains that are high in phosphorus and potassium.
● Low fat diary:
Habitual intake of low- or reduced-fat dairy products is associated with a lower risk for
developing chronic kidney disease.
● Legumes:
Recently, legumes have also been considered a good source of protein for CKD patients.
● Meditation:
Mindfulness Meditation Can Reduce Hypertension in Patients with Kidney Disease.
● Vitamins:

10 SYMPTOMS OF KIDNEY DISEASE
🔴 𝟭𝟬 𝗦𝗬𝗠𝗣𝗧𝗢𝗠𝗦 𝗢𝗙 𝗞𝗜𝗗𝗡𝗘𝗬 𝗗𝗜𝗦𝗘𝗔𝗦𝗘
𝟏𝟎. 𝐅𝐨𝐚𝐦𝐲 𝐢𝐧 𝐔𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐞
Foamy urine is a sign of protein in the urine, which is not normal.
Increased amounts of protein in urine could mean you have a serious kidney problem.
You should see your doctor if you have persistently foamy urine that becomes more
noticeable over time.
🔴 GET RID OF PROTEINURIA: https://youtu.be/rK3cEg2MJ9I
𝟗. 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐔𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐏𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐬
Decreased urine output, although occasionally urine output remains normal.
𝟖. 𝐅𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐠𝐮𝐞
A severe decrease in kidney function can lead to a buildup of toxins and impurities in the
blood. This can cause people to feel tired, weak and can make it hard to concentrate.
𝟕. 𝐅𝐞𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐝 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐦 (𝐜𝐚𝐮𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐛𝐲 𝐀𝐍𝐄𝐌𝐈𝐀)
Another complication of kidney disease is anemia, which can cause weakness and fatigue.
When you have kidney disease, your kidneys cannot make enough EPO. Low EPO levels
cause your red blood cell count to drop and anemia to develop.
🔴 BEAT ANEMIA: https://youtu.be/F6Oi7cYDdVI
𝟔. 𝐂𝐡𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐩𝐚𝐢𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐡𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐁𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐡
Acute kidney failure may lead to a buildup of fluid in your lungs, which can cause shortness of
breath.
Chest pain: if the lining that covers your heart becomes inflamed, you may experience chest
pain.
𝟓. 𝐊𝐢𝐝𝐧𝐞𝐲 𝐏𝐚𝐢𝐧
See a doctor immediately if you:
- Develop sudden and severe pain
- Pass blood in your urine
- Have fever or chills
𝟒. 𝐒𝐰𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠
When you have kidney disease, extra fluid and sodium in your circulation may cause edema.
The edema associated with kidney disease usually occurs in your legs and around your eyes.
𝟑. 𝐈𝐭𝐜𝐡𝐲 𝐒𝐤𝐢𝐧
Extremely itchy skin is a common symptom of advanced kidney disease. The itch can range
from irritating to life-disrupting.
Your skin may itch all (or most of) the time. Some people have itch on one area of their skin.
🔴 SWELLING & ITCHY SKIN: https://youtu.be/o1f-UJiX4rA
𝟐. 𝐌𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐜 𝐓𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐌𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡
People with end stage kidney disease often complain of a metallic taste in their mouth.
Possible causes of this include: high levels of urea and other substances in the body, low
levels of zinc.
𝟏. 𝐍𝐚𝐮𝐬𝐞𝐚 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐕𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠
Nausea and vomiting is very common in kidney patients and has many causes.
These causes include the build up of uremic toxins, medications, gastroparesis, ulcers,
gastroesophageal reflux disease, gall bladder disease and many many more.

KIDNEY DISEASE FACTS
One of the best ways to prevent a disease is knowing its nature.
Awareness can help someone make smart choices in life to reduce the risk of being affected by the disease.
🔴 Here are 5 important facts to know about kidney disease.
✅ 𝐀𝐝𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐝𝐢𝐚𝐛𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐫 𝐡𝐢𝐠𝐡 𝐛𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐭 𝐡𝐢𝐠𝐡 𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐤 𝐨𝐟 𝐝𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐤𝐢𝐝𝐧𝐞𝐲 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐞
About 1 in 3 adults with diabetes and 1 in 5 with high blood pressure will be diagnoses with chronic kidney disease.
These diseases can cause blood vessel damage, which can affect blood flow towards the kidneys.
Other risk factors associated with kidney disease include: high blood cholesterol, obesity, heart disease, lupus, and a family history of chronic kidney disease.
✅ 𝗞𝗶𝗱𝗻𝗲𝘆 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗻𝗲’𝘀 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗶𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘀𝗰𝘂𝗹𝗮𝗿 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗯𝗹𝗲𝗺𝘀
Having kidney disease places one at higher risk of developing cardiovascular problems, such as a heart attack or stroke.
This is because kidney disease makes it more difficult to maintain normal blood pressure and blood cholesterol levels - factors that can affect one’s risk of heart disease.
✅ 𝗞𝗶𝗱𝗻𝗲𝘆 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗰𝗮𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵-𝗿𝗲𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀
When left untreated, kidney disease can lead to other health problems such as pulmonary edema, pericarditis (inflammation of the pericardium), anemia, fractures, and even malnutrition.
✅ 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 𝗺𝗮𝘆 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗿 𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗮𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗸𝗶𝗱𝗻𝗲𝘆 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲
Health screening for those who are at high risk of developing kidney disease may help in preventing or delaying the progression of the kidney problem.
Especially for those older than 50 years old and with a history of heart disease, diabetes, or high blood pressure.
✅ 𝗗𝗶𝗮𝗹𝘆𝘀𝗶𝘀 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗽 𝗶𝗻 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗿𝘆𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗼𝗿𝗴𝗮𝗻’𝘀 𝗳𝘂𝗻𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝘀𝘂𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗸𝗶𝗱𝗻𝗲𝘆 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲
People with kidney disease have a difficult time eliminating wastes and other unwanted fluid in the body. Dialysis can help in carrying out this process. Although it is not a cure for the disease, dialysis can help in improving the life of those living with serious kidney conditions.

BAD HABITS FOR YOUR KIDNEYS
🔴 𝗕𝗮𝗱 𝗵𝗮𝗯𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗞𝗶𝗱𝗻𝗲𝘆 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵
🔴 𝟏. 𝐎𝐕𝐄𝐑𝐔𝐒𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐏𝐀𝐈𝐍𝐊𝐈𝐋𝐋𝐄𝐑𝐒
What are the side effects of taking too many painkillers?
Taking too much of these medicines can lead to liver damage, stomach bleeding, and kidney disease.
Painkillers that are available without a prescription have been approved for the treatment of mild to moderate pain. They shouldn't be used for more than a few days in a row, and the specified maximum daily dose shouldn't be exceeded.
🔴 𝟐. 𝐀𝐁𝐔𝐒𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐒𝐀𝐋𝐓 𝐒𝐇𝐀𝐊𝐄𝐑
Patients with high blood pressure and chronic kidney disease often need to limit sodium or salt in their diet to keep their blood pressure under control and to prevent extra fluid from building up in the body and swelling.
A high salt intake has been shown to increase the amount of protein in the urine which is a major risk factor for the decline of kidney function.
🔴 𝟑. 𝐄𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐏𝐑𝐎𝐂𝐄𝐒𝐒𝐄𝐃 𝐅𝐎𝐎𝐃𝐒
Processed foods are significant sources of sodium and phosphorus. Many people who have kidney disease need to limit phosphorus in their diets. Some studies have shown that high phosphorus intake from processed foods in people without kidney disease may be harmful to their kidneys and bones.
🔴 𝟒. 𝐍𝐎𝐓 𝐃𝐑𝐈𝐍𝐊𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐄𝐍𝐎𝐔𝐆𝐇 𝐖𝐀𝐓𝐄𝐑
Severe dehydration can lead to kidney damage, so it's important to drink enough when you work or exercise very hard, and especially in warm and humid weather. Some studies have shown that frequent dehydration, even if it's mild, may lead to permanent kidney damage.
🔴 𝟓. 𝐄𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐓𝐎𝐎 𝐌𝐀𝐍𝐘 𝐅𝐎𝐎𝐃𝐒 𝐇𝐈𝐆𝐇 𝐈𝐍 𝐒𝐔𝐆𝐀𝐑
Once the blood sugar level gets higher than 180 mg/dl, the kidneys start to spill sugar into the urine. The higher the blood sugar, the more sugar comes out in the urine.
If your kidneys are normal, this usually isn't a problem, but if you have diabetes, too much sugar can cause PERMANENT kidney damage.
🔴 𝟔. 𝐒𝐌𝐎𝐊𝐈𝐍𝐆
Smoking can affect medicines used to treat high blood pressure. Uncontrolled or poorly controlled high blood pressure is a leading cause of kidney disease. Smoking slows the blood flow to important organs like the kidneys and can make kidney disease worse.
🔴 𝟕. 𝐒𝐈𝐓𝐓𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐒𝐓𝐈𝐋𝐋
Studies suggest that people who sit for prolonged periods every day have a higher risk for diabetes, heart attack, and even some cancers.
New research finds that sitting for long stretches may also raise the risk for chronic kidney disease, especially in women.
🔴 𝟖. 𝐌𝐈𝐒𝐒𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐎𝐔𝐓 𝐎𝐍 𝐒𝐋𝐄𝐄𝐏
Lack of sleep may be a gateway to kidney disease.
For people with chronic kidney disease, poor sleep may boost the chances that their illness will worsen.

SALT - HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE - KIDNEY DISEASE
❌ Excess sodium increases blood pressure because it holds excess fluid in the body, and that creates an added burden on the heart.
❌ Too much sodium will increase your risk of stroke, heart failure, osteoporosis, stomach cancer and kidney disease.
❌ In severe cases, it may also lead to hypernatremia, which, if left untreated, can be fatal.
❌ High blood pressure can constrict and narrow the blood vessels, which eventually damages and weakens them throughout the body, including in the kidneys.
❌ If your kidneys’ blood vessels are damaged, they may no longer work properly.
❌ When this happens, the kidneys are not able to remove all wastes and extra fluid from your body.
❌ 𝐇𝐢𝐠𝐡 𝐛𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐝 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐜𝐚𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐤𝐢𝐝𝐧𝐞𝐲 𝐟𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐟𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐝𝐢𝐚𝐛𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐬.

HEART HEALTH - KIDNEY HEALTH
⬤ 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐢𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐬𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐫 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐞𝐬 (CVDs) are the number 1 cause of death globally, taking an estimated 17.9 million lives each year.
𝐔𝐩 𝐭𝐨 𝟖𝟎 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐤𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞.
Diet, vitamin D status, and exercise are three important lifestyle factors that have a direct bearing on your individual risk.
These lifestyle changes can reduce your risk of problems like: arteries becoming clogged with fatty substances (atherosclerosis) high blood pressure.
⬤ Here are five foods that cause the damage that leads to stroke.
𝟭. Crackers, chips, and store-bought pastries and baked goods
Muffins, doughnuts, chips, crackers, and many other baked goods are high in trans fats, which are hydrogenated oils popular with commercial bakeries because they stay solid at room temperature, so the products don't require refrigeration. Also listed on labels as "partially hydrogenated" or hydrogenated oils, trans fats are found in all kinds of snack foods, frozen foods, and baked goods, including salad dressings, microwave popcorn, stuffing mixes, frozen tater tots and French fries, cake mixes, and whipped toppings.
𝟮. Smoked and processed meats
Whether your weakness is pastrami, sausage, hot dogs, bacon, or a smoked turkey sandwich, the word from the experts is: Watch out.
𝟯. Diet soda
People who drink a diet soda a day may up their stroke risk by 48 percent.
𝟰. Red meat
Researchers have long known that the saturated fat in red meat raises the risk of stroke and heart disease by gradually clogging arteries with a buildup of protein plaques.
𝟱. Canned soup and prepared foods
Canned soup is cited by nutritionists as the worst offender; one can of canned chicken noodle soup contains more than 1,100 mg of sodium, while many other varieties, from clam chowder to simple tomato, have between 450 and 800 mg per serving.

Chronic Kidney Disease
It said that research has found that sodium bicarbonate can dramatically slow the progress of the condition.
🔴 How to Use Baking Soda to Lower Creatinine Levels: https://youtu.be/SuNdaarlHt4
🔴 How can I protect my kidney function?
✅ 5 Things People with Kidney Disease Should Do:
● Lower high blood pressure.
✅ Your kidneys play a key role in keeping your blood pressure in a healthy range. Diseased kidneys are less able to help regulate blood pressure. As a result, blood pressure increases.
● Manage blood sugar levels.
✅ High levels of blood sugar can damage the kidneys and cause them to fail.
● Reduce salt intake.
✅ A high salt diet will alter this sodium balance, causing the kidneys to have reduced function and remove less water resulting in higher blood pressure.
● Avoid NSAIDs, a type of painkiller.
✅ If you have decreased kidney function, certain types of pain medications such as NSAIDs (nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) are not recommended because they reduce blood flow to the kidneys.
High doses and long-term use of painkillers may harm the kidneys, even healthy ones.
● Moderate protein consumption.
✅ A high protein intake has been shown to accelerate kidney damage in people who have kidney disease.

FOOD CRAVINGS EXPLAINED
Food cravings 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐮𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐛𝐲 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧 that are responsible for memory, pleasure, and reward.
𝙀𝙢𝙤𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙨 may also be involved in producing a food craving, especially if a person eats for comfort.
𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐠𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐰𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧 experience especially strong cravings, which may be due to hormonal changes that can disrupt their taste and smell receptors.
🔴 𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐭𝐨 𝐊𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐢𝐟 𝐘𝐨𝐮'𝐫𝐞 𝐀𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐇𝐮𝐧𝐠𝐫𝐲
Use the “𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐭𝐞𝐬𝐭” to gauge your appetite. If you're truly hungry, nutritious food (like an apple) will sound appetizing.
If you feel as though you won't be “satisfied” unless you bite into a greasy or sweet snack, that's probably a craving, not physical hunger.
The hungry feeling doesn't pass.
🔴 𝐖𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐞 𝐮𝐧𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐟𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐜𝐫𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬
● 𝐑𝐞𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐥𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐬
Stress and emotional eating can influence a variety of health issues. Feeling stressed may promote emotional eating and cravings for comfort foods.
● 𝐃𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐰𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫
Drinking plenty of water helps clean out toxins from the body, which may also benefit a person’s overall well-being.
● G𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐞𝐧𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐬𝐥𝐞𝐞𝐩
● E𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐞𝐧𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐢𝐧
A healthful diet should contain plenty of lean sources of protein, as they may help reduce cravings.
● 𝐂𝐡𝐞𝐰𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐠𝐮𝐦
Chewing gum keeps the mouth busy and may help reduce both sweet and salty cravings.
● 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐝
For cravings at home, it may help to take a walk around the block, take a shower, play tetris or even call a friend.
🔴 𝐑𝐞𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐜𝐫𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬
● 𝐏𝐨𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐨 𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐩𝐬: To avoid potato chips, replace them with a salty snack that is higher in healthy 𝐟𝐚𝐭𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐢𝐧, such as 𝐜𝐚𝐬𝐡𝐞𝐰𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐰𝐚𝐥𝐧𝐮𝐭𝐬.
● 𝐂𝐡𝐨𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐞: Cravings for chocolate may be a need for 𝐦𝐚𝐠𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐮𝐦, and some people find they can satisfy the craving by eating magnesium-rich foods, such as 𝐚𝐥𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐬. If nothing but chocolate will do, opt for 𝐝𝐚𝐫𝐤 𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐞 that contains at least 𝟕𝟎 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐜𝐨𝐜𝐨𝐚.
● 𝐂𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐲 𝐨𝐫 𝐩𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬: Sugar cravings can be easily satisfied with whole 𝐟𝐫𝐮𝐢𝐭𝐬, 𝐬𝐮𝐜𝐡 𝐚𝐬 𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐬, 𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬, 𝐨𝐫 𝐦𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐧. Keeping dried fruits, such as prunes or raisins, on hand may also be helpful for combatting cravings on the go.

Good and bad habits for your kidneys
❌ Bad Habits That May Harm Your Kidneys
● Overusing Painkillers
● Abusing the Salt Shaker
Diets high in salt are high in sodium, which can increase blood pressure and, in turn, harm your kidneys. Flavor your foods with herbs and spices instead of salt (BEST SPICES: https://youtu.be/4ta-OEYmiIA )
● Eating Processed Foods
Processed foods are significant sources of sodium and phosphorus. Many people who have kidney disease need to limit phosphorus in their diets.
● Not Drinking Enough Water
Staying well hydrated helps your kidneys clear sodium and toxins from the body.
● Missing Out on Sleep
A good night’s rest is extremely important to your overall well-being and, it turns out, your kidneys.
● Eating Too Much Meat
Animal protein generates high amounts of acid in the blood that can be harmful to the kidneys and cause acidosis – a condition in which kidneys cannot eliminate acid fast enough (Right Protein for Kidney Patients: https://youtu.be/Rmqa6790qy4 ).
● Eating Too Many Foods High in Sugar
Sugar contributes to obesity which increases your risk of developing high blood pressure and diabetes, two of the leading causes of kidney disease.
● SMOKING
Smoking isn't good for your lungs or your heart. But did you know that smoking may not be good for your kidneys either? People who smoke are more likely to have protein in the urine, a sign of kidney damage.
● Drinking Alcohol in Excess
Regular heavy drinking - more than four drinks a day - has been found to double the risk chronic kidney disease.
● Sitting Still
Sitting for long periods of time has now been linked to the development of kidney disease. Although researchers don’t know yet why or how sedentary time or physical activity directly impact kidney health, it is known that greater physical activity is associated with improved blood pressure and glucose metabolism, both important factors in kidney health.

Reduce Your Risk For Chronic Diseases
⦿ Healthy habits that anyone should be able to include in their daily lives.
1. GET YOUR EXERCISE
Regular exercise helps control weight, maintain healthy bones, muscles, and joints, and reduces our risk of high blood pressure, heart disease, and diabetes.
2. Eating a healthy diet
Eating well is fundamental to good health and well-being. Healthy eating helps us to maintain a healthy weight and reduces our risk of type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol and the risk of developing cardiovascular disease and some cancers.
3. Drink Plenty of Water
It can do so many good things for you. Staying hydrated is at the top of the list.
4. Learn Something New
New skills help keep your brain healthy. Sign up for a dance class or a creative writing workshop. Better yet, master a new language. The mental work it takes can slow the signs of aging and may even delay the effects of Alzheimer's disease.
5. Don't Smoke
If you light up, quit. It's a big move toward better health. Your body repairs itself quickly. As soon as 20 minutes after your last cigarette, your heart rate and blood pressure drop. Why wait? Kick the habit, today.
6. Sleep Well
A good night's sleep keeps you in a better mood, sharpens memory and focus, and helps you learn new things. In the long term, it lowers your risk of heart disease and helps you keep trim. Aim to get 7 to 9 hours a night.
7. Be Mindful
It can mean meditating or simply stopping to smell the roses. However you do it, studies show mindfulness slashes stress, relieves pain, and improves your mood. And scientists are beginning to understand how. One study found that 8 weeks of regular meditation can change parts of your brain related to emotions, learning, and memory. Even washing dishes can be good for your brain, as long as you do it mindfully.
