How To Lower Creatinine Level Fast - How I Improved My Kidney Function

*This Is the Program I Followed to Reverse Kidney Disease

 Watch on Youtube

Transcript

In today's video I'll show you 5 things you can do right now to lower your creatinine levels fast.
I know these things work because... these are the things that I did to improve my kidney function.
Yes, I'm a kidney disease patient and today I'm showing you my actual, working strategy to lower creatinine and improve kidney function.
Hello, this is Tony Benneth, welcome to 00kidney.
After being diagnosed with chronic kidney disease, two years ago, my doctor told me that ... you can't reverse kidney disease. You can improve your kidney function... but just a little bit. And kidney disease is not reversible.
But it wasn't true. Not for everyone at least. Not for me.
I actually improved my kidney function a lot!
It wasn't easy, it still isn't easy. Even if I'm better now I still have to fight, just like you, this terrifying disease.
And I was lucky enough to discover Katherine's channel here, 00kidney, and I actually found out that there are things you can do to lower your creatinine levels.
Ok, nobody has time to lose here so let's jump to the strategy, let's see what actually works to improve kidney function.
NUMBER 1 FIRST THING TO DO TO LOWER CREATININE - LOWER PROTEIN INTAKE
Avoid eating red meat,
dairy products and
other foods rich in protein
will help lowering creatinine.

yeah, maybe I should have started with an easier one. Never mind, diet is really important for a kidney disease patient.
So, let's start with an advice from a kidney patient, me, to another kidney patient, you.
Things can be pretty... rough when you get near the advanced stages of chronic kidney disease and your doctor starts to talk about dialysis. It's frightening, I know.
And, while making a significant change in your diet may seem hard too, it is a lot better than seeing chronic kidney disease progress without doing anything to fight it.
So, reducing protein intake is actually a very good first step to lower our creatinine.
And it will work fast.
You know, just two years ago I was almost in stage 5 of CKD.
because I wasn't caring enough about my health.
When I started to care, finding the correct renal diet was one of the first, big, changes I had to do in my lifestyle.
But it worked.
I had to follow a very restrictive renal diet at first, but now that my kidneys are better, I can have a more easy to follow diet.
CONSUMING A VERY LOW PROTEIN DIET REMOVES A LOT OF STRESS FROM OUR KIDNEYS
This will improve our GFR, giving us more energy and making us feel better.
My personal advice to lower the amount of protein in the diet is to... avoid bad protein at all costs.
So, avoid protein from fat cuts of red meat, fat cuts of chicken and pork.
Also avoid packaged meats in general, like salami sausages. And avoid dairy.
Yes, this is not easy at first but it will work, it will work fast.

NUMBER 2 DRINK MORE WATER
Keep your kidneys healthy
by drinking the right
amount of water

Aaah, here we go, this is an easy way to lower our creatinine levels fast.
Water is really important for the health of our kidneys.
A lot of people live their lives in a constant state of mild dehydration.
This will directly impact the creatinine levels, in a bad way.
If you're dehydrated your creatinine will be higher.
So drinking more water will lower it really fast.
Also we should consider that, in the long run, your kidneys will suffer, if you're constantly dehydrated.
Water helps the kidneys removing wastes from the blood, and if there's not enough water, the kidneys will have to work harder.
In the long run this can increase the chances of UTIs, kidney stones and kidney disease.
All of these are... really bad for our kidneys. So drink more water.
How much water?
Men need about 13 cups of water per day, women about 9.
We're talking about between 2 and 3 liters of water per day.
These are just estimates and can change if you live in a hot climate or if you do a lot of physical activity.
What's important is that this is a lot more than most of the people actually drink.
So drink more water if you want to help your kidneys. Maybe bring a water bottle with you when you're at work or traveling, you know and...
How can you tell if you're drinking enough? Look at the color of your urine. Urine should be light yellow, if it's darker it means you're dehydrated.
This only apply to people who are not on a restricted water intake. If you're on dialysis, you cannot drink all this water and you should drink no more than your doctor allowed you to do.

THIRD THING TO DO TO LOWER CREATININE LEVELS - EAT MORE OMEGA 3S
A diet rich in omega 3s
is proven to help improving GFR

There are actually studies proving this.
let's see...
Omega-3s and renal function in older adults
Omega-3 fatty acid supplementation as an adjunctive therapy in the treatment of chronic kidney disease
this is a long one...
ok, don't worry I'm not gonna read all these studies right now
because they're really tedious and this is still Youtube, by the way... but I've read them.
Yes, I have read them pretty carefully. I'm pretty cautious when it comes to my own health.
What all these studies basically say is that they tested Omega 3s on... from foods and from supplements on a bunch of people suffering from kidney disease and the people who actually took the Omega 3s reported an improvement in their kidney function over the years.
But the interesting part is
OMEGA-3 FATTY ACIDS CAN LOWER CHOLESTEROL LEVELS AND BLOOD PRESSURE, REDUCE OXIDATIVE STRESS ON THE KIDNEYS AND PREVENT HEART DISEASE AND STROKE IN KIDNEY PATIENTS.
Now, patients suffering from kidney disease tend to have a higher risk for heart disease and stroke, so Omega-3s are really useful for us.
So, when I discovered about this I just... you known, started to take 4 of these per day.
These are... I show you... pills, jelly pills.
I take 4 of these per day Nothing more and nothing less.
Yes, this is actually one of the very few supplements that are perfectly safe and that are actually proven to help you lowering creatinine levels naturally.
I tested Omega 3s. They work.
NUMBER 4 FIND THE CAUSE
Find out what's damaging your kidneys
and stop it.
Diabetes and high blood pressure are
the most common causes of ckd.
they are both preventable and curable
Ok, let's take a look at this pie chart.
44% of the cases of chronic kidney disease are caused by diabetes. 44%.
Now, if you have diabetes there's too much sugar in your blood. It's actually called blood glucose level, and if you have diabetes it is one of the things you should be checking regularly in your blood analysis.
This excess of sugar in the blood is what's actually damaging your kidneys. There's a protein, called albumin, which should be present in your blood but not in your urine. So if in your analysis says that there's albumin in the urine, it means that diabetes is actually damaging the nephrons, the tiny filtering units of the kidneys.
If I'm telling you this is because, according to the statistics, 44% of you listening to me right now have diabetes.
So I'm thinking that it may be actually useful to address this problem.
Because if your kidney disease is caused by diabetes there is no way you're going to be reversing it, or improving your kidney function if you don't take care of diabetes.
So, if you suffer from diabetes, take all the necessary steps to address it: take the medications prescribed by your doctor, follow the right diet and weight loss program.
All the other tips would be useless if you don't address this problem first.
Now, looking at the pie chart, there's another 29% of people who got chronic kidney disease from high blood pressure.
my blood pressure was as high as 190 over 120. These are pretty incredible numbers, since the right blood pressure is 120 over 70.
The damage to my kidneys was... severe.
So, I can actually tell you from my first-hand experience that if you have a blood pressure this high it is going to damage your kidneys.
What blood pressure is actually damaging are the blood vessels inside the kidneys.
The kidneys will not filter the blood good enough when this starts to happen, so there will be more fluids in the blood than there should actually be.
What will happen then? What will happen if you have more fluids in the blood than there should be?
You guessed it, these extra fluid in your blood will make your blood pressure even higher, causing further damage to the kidneys. It's what they call a vicious circle.
It's not funny at all, I can guarantee this to you.
So, how did I lowered my blood pressure, you may ask me now?
I basically did two things: I started to avoid sugary foods and started to exercise regularly.
Sounds funny, doesn't it? No more sweets, no more ice cream, no more sugary beverages... I had to get a gym subscription, instead.
I had to give up eating at the fast foods too. Do I miss them? Every single day.
Did it work? Yes, it did.

NUMBER 5 NEVER STOP FIGHTING
To overcome our diseases,
mental strength is fundamental

Look, I know how this feels. When life throws you a curveball and you don't know how to handle it... well... life is just unfair sometimes. But I'm not here to tell you this.
What I want to tell you is that you can still fight.
Because you have to fight.
Sometimes being brave and standing our ground is everything that is left to us.
The psychological aspect of the disease is something that a lot of doctor don't want to consider... they prefer to let the patient face it... sometimes alone... I've seen this personally.
You can ask anyone who went through a chronic illness. It is impossible to survive, to beat the illness, if you don't have the mental strength to fight the illness.
It's not just kidney disease: every chronic illness, cancer, diabetes, degenerative conditions... even accidents you know... will put people in a situation where they have to be brave in a way they never thought they could be.
All the people going through this kind of conditions have to fight.
But when you're strong, when you have the will to fight, you will become stronger and stronger day by day and you illness will look weaker.
If you decide to be strong, it means that you can still win.
NUMBER 6 ALWAYS BE INFORMED
Knowing our illness
will put us
in the condition to overcome it
Ok, this isn't easy as it seems, but it's maybe the most important thing you can do to improve your kidney health and to lower creatinine levels.
You won't always have the possibility to talk to a doctor during the day. Look, I don't know how this works for you, but for me talking to a nephrologist or a dietitian to ask for advice on a daily basis is almost impossible. And yet, there are a lot of things  you would want to ask them...
Can I eat this... or that food right now?
Would it be better for my kidney health to eat more fruit or should I limit the calories?
Should I even eat at all?
But you cannot ask your doctor about all this right now, can you? You have to schedule an appointment... you have to wait... a lot... and maybe you won't even get the answer you need in time.
And I'm thinking about the daily routine, here. And what about what's not routine?
Ok, it seems like being informed about our condition is actually a matter of self-protection.
For me personally, during my journey to reverse kidney disease, collecting information was, and still is, a huge project. Something that took me a lot of energy and time and money.
Still, getting informed about my illness is something that made all the difference for me.
When I started to understand my condition, I started to actually being able to fight it and, ultimately to reverse it.
Luckily there's one thing that made this a lot easier for me and this is what I want to share with you.
My journey to reverse kidney disease was not always easy.
At the beginning I did all that I could to improve my condition. I was really motivated.
But despite all my efforts my blood tests kept showing a decrease in kidney function. And my blood pressure was still high. Ouch.
Then there was a moment in my journey when my creatinine started to go down, my GFR started to go up and my kidney function started to improve.
I needed some help to get this result. Sometimes, you cannot do it all by yourself.
The help came from a doctor, actually.
He created this program. This is what helped me the most in lowering my creatinine.
I got to talk to the doctor that wrote this book... it's all part of the program actually.
He gave me a lot of answers to questions I cannot resolve by myself.
Because you cannot always do everything by yourself, no matter how hard you try.
That's why I'm telling you to give this program a try.
Look, I'm leaving a link to find it right here, you can't miss it.
See if it works for you like it worked for me.
Really wishing you all the best

10 Fruits for Kidney Health - Lower Risk for Heart Disease, Hypertension...

Watch on Youtube - Subscribe to 00Kidney

These fruits are the best when it comes to reducing inflammation, helping with digestion problems (improve digestion) and with our cardiovascular health.

These exotic fruits are so healthy and rich in antioxidants that they have also been proven to lower the risk for heart disease and hypertension.

This is the top 10: exotic fruits so healthy you absolutely have to include them in your diet.
We handpicked them for their incredible properties.
Each one of these fruits has been proven to help you in a specific area of your health. Here’s how.
Hello, how are your kidneys doing?  This is Katherine. Welcome to 00Kidney! Don’t forget to subscribe and turn on notifications!
I’m really excited to present you this cheat-sheet of insanely healthy exotic fruits that should be on every refrigerator door.
Number 10 to lose weight you should eat… Coconut!
Coconut is considered a superfood thanks to its unique combination of fatty acids.
While many people think that losing weight is only a matter of calories, experts are convinced that the source of those calories is even more important.
Coconut is a great example: it contains unique medium-chain triglyceride, proven to cause a negative energy balance and consequently weight loss.
This means that eating coconut increases the number of calories you burn, compared to eating other sources of fatty acids.
Another study showed how medium-chain triglycerides in coconut can even reduce hunger.
This is an incredible combination of factors that can easily trigger weight loss!
Number 9 to improve your cardiovascular health you should eat… pitaya!
What is pitaya? Also known as dragon fruit, pitaya is native to Central America, but also grown in Vietnam, Australia and Thailand.
Pitaya is an incredibly nutritious superfood, so rich in antioxidants that it has been proven to lower the risk for heart disease and hypertension. It may be difficult to come by, but you should absolutely try it if you can!
Number 8 To reduce inflammation you should eat…  avocado!
Avocado has a big difference from most other fruits: it is low in carbs and rich in healthy fats.
Particularly in oleic acid, a monounsaturated fat with an ability to reduce inflammations.
It also contains a particular compound called AV119 known for its anti-inflammatory properties.
You are what you eat: eat avocados and you will be… healthy!!!!
Number 7 To improve digestion you should eat…  pineapple!
Pineapple is not just a very tasty superfood, it also contain bromelain.
This particular protein-digesting enzyme, with a history of use in folk medicine, is today used as a meat tenderizer, in some medications and as a dietary supplement. It also gives pineapple its ability to help your digestion. A lot of people like pineapple, and knowing that it can help your digestion is great news. Just don’t put pineapple on pizza!
Number 6 To improve sport performance you should eat…  Banana!
A study conducted on cyclists shown a whopping 5% increase of overall performance, when eating bananas.
Bananas contain a very favorable sugar, pectin and starch profile, in addition to vitamin C, vitamin B6 and potassium.
The carbs are a good source of pre workout fuel, while the pectin helps digestion and the starch content improves blood sugar levels.
Eating a banana one or two hours before exercising can definitely help sustain energy levels during the workout.
Number 5 To prevent muscle and joint soreness you should eat… Cherries!
Cherries are rich in anthocyanin, a flavonoid that has shown properties similar to NSAIDs drugs such as naproxen or ibuprofen.
It is so powerful that, during a clinical trial,  runners who drank cherry juice before and during a race reported faster muscle recovery and much less inflammation than the control group who received a placebo. It’s a lot more fun to train when your legs don’t hurt, isn’t it?
Number 4 to fight aging you should eat…  Blackberries!
Blackberries are extremely rich in polyphenol and antioxidants.
They can help your body fighting free radicals, slowing down aging. They are also really rich in vitamin C, minerals and fiber.
Blackberries are also very low in calories, but still very tasty.
Number 3 To avoid the risk for diabetes you should eat… Prickly pear!
Also called cactus pears, these fruits provide more magnesium than any other fruit. A study conducted on more than 60.000 women found that magnesium is effective in fighting diabetes risk. Why not give these exotic tasty fruits a try, then?
Number 2 to take care of your skin and look younger you should eat… Apricot!
It’s no wonder that apricots are widely used by the cosmetic industry: they are in fact really good for our skin. What scientists think is that the combination of Vitamin A, Vitamin C and phytonutrients are what make them so effective against the signs of aging.
If you want to improve your skin care regimen, start eating apricots!
Number 1 to prevent cancer you should eat… Mango! Mangos are so tasty people often forget how healthy they are.
What researchers have discovered is that the antioxidant compounds present in mangos, like astragalin, quercetin, isoquercetin, gallic acid, fisetin and methyl gallate, as well as the abundant enzymes, are able to protect us from breast, lung, colon, prostate and bone marrow cancer.
And if this isn’t enough, mangos are also really helpful to clear the skin, lower cholesterol, improve eye health and to alkalize the whole body.
It may not be the easier fruit to find and the shelves, but for sure it is worth the effort.
This is all for today. If you liked this video, please like and leave a comment! Thank you for watching!

With their added sugar, added salt and added fats these 5 foods considered healthy can literally KILL YOUR KIDNEYS.
Are you eating them?
Do you know what they are?

This is maybe the unhealthiest grocery haul I've ever made!
With their added sugar, added salt and added fats these 5 foods considered healthy can literally KILL YOUR KIDNEYS.
LET'S SEE WHAT'S INSIDE

Hello, how are your kidneys doing? this is Katherine, welcome to 00Kidney.
Usually, when you see me in my kitchen I'm preparing something good to keep the kidneys healthy in a tasty way!
Today instead, I'll show you 5 foods that consumers eat regularly.
Because they're blissfully unaware of how dangerous these supposedly healthy foods truly are!
these 5 foods considered healthy can literally KILL YOUR KIDNEYS.

Are you eating them? Do you know what they are?

The good news is that if you stop eating these supposedly "healthy" foods, you can lower your creatinine and start to support your kidney health right now!
There are a lot of misconceptions in food.
We live in a society where the FDA is supposed to control everything that ends up on the supermarket shelf, so people should be able to safely shop without worrying, without checking the labels.

But this is clearly not true. And we can thank for this the marketing departments of the big food and beverages companies.
These companies have been using marketing tricks to make you think you're eating healthy foods, when you're actually eating sugar packed, kidney killers food items.
Well, let's just say that all these foods are a lot less healthy than they look.
In fact, the opinion of the general public on the "healthy" way of eating, is so biased by the commercials and the advertisings, that we end up eating the most unhealthy things when we think we are eating healthy.

So, what happens if you actually go shopping around without checking if what you're eating is actually healthy or just sold as "healthy"?
You may end up eating foods like...
Number 5... let's see what's inside... fruit juices!
They told us that everything that comes off a tree is healthy.
Yes, in fruit juice there are vitamins, minerals, antioxidants... but are they really healthy?
Quick answer: no they are not!
fruit juices have been associated with an increased risk of heart disease  and diabetes.
A real danger if you want to keep your kidneys healthy!
And yet they keep selling this as healthy!
What the commercials forgot to tell us about fruit juices, is that all the healthy fibers of the fruit have been carefully removed and replaced with sugar!
So, you think you're drinking a glass of fruit, but what you're basically drinking is a glass full of sugar!
And I'm not exaggerating, just take a look at the label of any fruit juice and you'll see.
If you're drinking a cup, or 250 milliliters of fruit juice, you're ingesting up to 30 grams or 8 teaspoons of sugar! And, while this is unhealthy for everyone, kidney patients are exceptionally susceptible to the insulin spike caused by an excess of sugar.
An insulin spike can damage the tiny blood vessels inside the kidneys.

An insulin spike destroys the filtering units of the kidneys the nephrons and cause serious kidney damage

In fact, diabetes is the number one cause of kidney disease because of this process.
And there's even more! The liquid calories contained in fruit juices, and in other sugary drinks like sodas and alcoholic beverages, are actually known to cause even more troubles.
They don't provide any filling effect, and as I said, will cause a blast of sugar into the bloodstream.
All this sugar will stimulate the production of insulin, a hormone related to the feeling of hunger.
So you're not just introducing a lot of calories from sugar, you'll even end up eating more!

Yes, I too used to think that I was drinking liquid health when I drank fruit juices, but they're basically... liquid diabetes.
Bottom line, even if they used to be perceived as healthy, it is better to avoid fruit juices and other sugar-sweetened beverage if we care about our kidney health.

Number 4... let's see what's here... diet sodas!
Now, you may think that if you remove the sugar you remove the problem, right?
Well, no. Not at all.
Let's talk about diet sodas. These diet drinks are actually sugar free, and are artificially sweetened with Aspartame or Saccharin or other synthetic sweeteners.
Diet sodas have virtually no calories, so they get marketed towards diabetics, health conscious people athletes and people who want to lose weight.
Seems, straight forward, right? You reduce your sugar intake and your health will benefit from this.
There's just a problem with diet sodas.
Diet sodas and other artificially sweetened beverages may be even more dangerous for our kidneys and overall health than fruit juices and sugary beverages.
How is it possible?
Diet sodas are full of tooth-eroding additives, possibly carcinogenic food colorings and artificial sweeteners that are proven to cause risk of stroke, heart disease, type 2 diabetes and kidney disease.

Now, if this isn't bad enough, there are even studies showing a direct correlation between the regular consumption of diet sodas and chronic kidney disease.
The synthetic sweeteners, like Aspartame or Saccharin present in diet sodas have been proven to cause a sharp decline of kidney function in people that consumes them regularly.
So, in short, there are some big studies that have compared the kidney function of people who drank water to the kidney health of people who drank 2 cans of diet sodas per day.
After 10 years the group of people who drank diet sodas had a rate of decline of kidney function 30% faster than the group who didn't drank diet sodas.
So this means that if you drink diet sodas regularly, your kidneys are going to be damaged.
All the test subjects who drank diet sodas got some kidney damage, nobody got out clean.
This is actually pretty scary, if you ask me: these beverages, marketed as "healthy", are actually doing more damage to our health that their already unhealthy sugary counterparts.

So, if the risk of death caused by the tooth-eroding additives and the possibly carcinogenic food colorings present in diet sodas wasn't enough, there's even proof that diet sodas are killing the kidney health of people, now.
What to do, then? Avoid artificially sweetened sodas and never look back.
In fact, you don't actually need anything besides plain water, if you want to keep your kidneys healthy.
You shouldn't drink any calories at all.
So no soft drinks, no fruit juices, no diet colas.
But, if you absolutely can't resist some sweetness in what you drink, make yourself a smoothie. Drinking real fruit pureed raw is a lot healthier than drinking fruit juices or diet sodas.
I've just made myself some watermelon juice! Yummy

Number 3 salads
Ok, what could be wrong with salads now? People are eating more salad when they want to be healthier, and green vegetables are actually one of the best foods to support our kidney health.
Yes, eating salad is an healthy way to improve kidney function naturally...
but you may be undoing all the benefits if you dress it too much!
Have you ever watched someone eating a salad with a ton of croutons, and salt, and dressing, and oil in it...
do you actually think that's healthy?
I don't think so.
Yes, heavily dressed salad can be really unhealthy, when you think about all the ingredients we are adding to the salad.
That's not a salad anymore, it may be tasty but it's actually junk food!
Salt covered junk food, absolutely not healthy for a kidney patient or for anyone else!

Number 2, oh this is a big one, I'm wondering what it may be...
fruits and veggies too rich in potassium
Why are these unhealthy?
Potassium is a micronutrient way too familiar to kidney patients.
If you're in an advanced stage of chronic kidney disease, there are really high chances that you're on a low potassium diet.
When the kidneys cannot filter the blood well enough to remove all the wastes and toxins they should be removing, potassium is one of the most dangerous things that can start to accumulate.
Hyperkalemia, the excess of potassium that kidney patients risk when they eat too much bananas or potatoes for example, can cause symptoms as severe as chest pain, trouble breathing Palpitations, irregular heartbeat and even heart attack.
While fruits like bananas, oranges and veggies like spinach are perfectly healthy for most of the population, kidney patients should avoid them..
So avoid fruits like:
bananas, oranges, cantaloupe, honeydew, apricots, grapefruit, prunes, raisins
And vegetables like
potatoes, spinach, broccoli, canned tomatoes, canned beans
The kidneys of an healthy person are always able to remove the excess of potassium from the blood.
But, for a kidney patient the symptoms of too much potassium can be as severe as an heart attack.
So avoid potassium rich fruits and vegetables.
Also avoid canned and packaged foods in general, if you need to keep potassium levels down.
They are full of potassium and sodium and the FDA doesn't even require food producers to label potassium levels!
So be careful.

Number 1 energy bars
Sold as a healthy supplement for active people, energy bars are consumed by a large number of individuals who think they have found a convenient source of nutrition, vitamins and minerals to fill a nutritional gap. And that also tastes great, since they make them in all the flavors.
But are energy bars actually healthy? And are they suitable for a kidney friendly diet?
Let's see what's in them. Let's take a look at the label. there's a lot of sugar in here!
Well, they may be less healthy than people think. A lot less healthy, actually.
First of all, don't be fooled by the word "energy". It just means sugar. Yes, that's it.
And it's not even a lie, since sugar actually provides energy, which is just a synonym of... calories.
In fact, a medium sized energy bar will pack about 200 calories.
So there's nothing special about the energy contained in energy bars, there's nothing magical about them and they won't give you a boost in focus or strength... unless you're actually starved.
Some energy bars are so full of sugar they should be considered candy bars.
And while replacing meals with energy bars is unhealthy for everyone, kidney patients should be really careful with them since energy bars usually pack a lot more protein than their kidneys can safely manage.
So, lots of sugar, lots of protein lots of calories... energy bars are definitely a big no-no, if you want to eat foods that support your kidney health.
This is all for today, thank you for watching!

TRANSCRIPT

Just 2 years ago, I was between stage 4 and stage 5 of chronic kidney disease. Now I'm stage 3.
I'm not risking dialysis, not anymore. I've reversed my kidney disease, and I'm lowering my creatinine.
How? I've just made some simple changes in my renal diet.
Now my kidneys are recovering, my creatinine is going down.
And eating this very particular superfood was one of the things that helped me the most doing this.
Today, I will be sharing with you the way I've reversed my kidney disease.
I'll show you the things I've done to reverse my kidney disease.
Because I'm confident that these things will help you too.
Yes, I was in stage 4 of CKD, I was almost on dialysis. Now, today I'm in stage 3, and my creatinine is decreasing.
Here's how I've done it.
Hello, my name is Tony, Tony Benneth and this is 00kindey.
You may be wondering what am I doing here, on Katherine's channel.
I'll tell you more about this and more about my story in a moment, for now, let me just ask you a question.
Do you know that there's a very common vegetable, a vegetable considered healthy, and that you probably eat regularly, that causes kidney damage and loss of kidney function?
This vegetable is actually sending your kidneys into the toxic over load.
I'll show you what this vegetable is doing in a moment.
Because there's also a very common grocery store item which instantly lowers your creatinine levels.
In this video, I'll show you that just by stopping to eat the dangerous vegetable and and starting to eat the healthy grocery store item you can actually start to lower your creatinine level.
I only discovered these things when I've started caring for my own health.
For years I didn't care enough about my health.
I work in a hospital I see sick people every day.
I'm not a doctor.
Actually, I always did my best to avoid doctors. Don't do that, by the way.
Until one day, 5 years ago, I started feeling tired. More than usual.
It's just too much work, I said to myself.
I know that kidney disease runs in my family, but I'm not gonna get it!
And I'm still going to the bathroom just fine by the way.
This is what I was telling myself.
I was too scared to do blood tests, so I left the time pass. Things weren't going any better, I even started to have a metallic taste in my mouth.
Then, I finally had to do some tests and...
Well, I'll never forget the look on the nurse's face when she was taking my blood pressure.
I knew her very well, she's working in my same hospital.
And she was so shocked and confused! My blood pressure was a not just high, it was 190/120!
...
Now, that's incredible because the right numbers should be 120 on 70, so you can understand how strange this was for a person my age! I was not even in my forties. We took the test with two different pressure monitors because we thought that the first one was broken.
But it wasn't.
Obviously I got tested for creatinine level too, as chronic kidney disease runs in my family.
This was the first time I had a blood test since I think... 2010? My GFR and creatinine were perfectly fine in those years.
Well, you can imagine my shock when I was told I had stage 4 chronic kidney disease.
The nurse ... she was talking to me like I would have... no life in the near future.
I really thought she was joking at first, or that she was just trying to scare me into an healthier lifestyle.

Then she shows me the numbers.
My Creatinine was 5.3 and ... I only 19% remaining kidney function.
It took several weeks for me to... you know, overcome the stage of denial.
For the first time in my life I was scared of the future. I have a family, kids to care for.
How was I going to take care of them when I wasn't going to be able to work anymore?
Ok, let's get to the point now: you are all here to know what helped me reversing my kidney disease.
You want to know how I've done it.

I know very well why our doctors think reversing kidney disease is impossible, but I'm here to tell you that this is just not true.
I'm living proof that this is not true.
I had a lot of time to spare in the period when I was preparing for dialysis.
So I decided to start doing some researches online.
To try and figure out tings for myself.
This is maybe the best thing I've ever done in my life.
I decided that I wanted to fight the disease. That I wanted to be stronger.
I started to actually talk to doctors.
Yeah, you wouldn't believe.
A nephrologist, one of the kidney specialist I was going to, once told me that dialysis is just the Western way of doing it, and not always the right way.
This made me think. I started to explore holistic medicine remedies. I started to read about Ayurveda and the traditional Chinese medicine.
I discovered this Youtube channel. 00kidney. Have you watched Micheal Wright's videos, by the way?
I watched them. I learned a lot from those videos.
I tell you what, some of the herbs I've discovered helped me alleviating a lot of my problems.
Swelling, fatigue, inability to sleep... all of these can be cured.
And obviously there's more.
If you give your kidneys a way to regenerate themselves, they will do just that.
Because they're genetically programmed to regenerate themselves.
So, give the kidneys all the nutrients they need, remove all the toxins and... your body will do the rest.
You know, the kidney is the only organ in the whole human body that can actually regenerate itself completely.
This is what they discovered in a recent study about stem cells.
The kidney can actually regrow its cells faster than any other organ in the body.
It's clear why, if we think about it.
The kidney is constantly fighting a battle against organ damaging toxins.
It needs this great ability to recover because it's constantly in contact with all the harmful toxins we put in our body.
But, this means that, as soon as we remove the cause of the problem, it can start to regrow its cells.
I'm not just telling you this, there are studies.
When I started doing researches. I found out that my "HEALTHY" diet was putting great strain on my kidneys.
I ate a lot of foods that I didn't even know were dangerous.
You see, when I started trying to improve my kidney health by myself, I just added as many veggies I could to my diet.
Things started to go from bad to worse.

I had to find out by myself, that some of these "healthy" veggies and fruits I was eating were actually doing more harm than good.
Corn
Winter Squash
Olives
Lentils
All these foods, that may seem healthy, are actually acidifying and can increase your creatinine level.
As soon as I removed them from my renal diet I started to feel better.

This is how you can tell that you did something good for your kidney health.
You just start to feel better.

Then I've started to eat this, raw, organic celery.
I'm also juicing it every day. I drink the juice first thing in the morning.
Yes, it helps lowering creatinine.
And its effects on the body are quite astounding.
Raw organic celery juice is proven to calm chronic inflammations.
Inflammation is the root cause of any disease ending in ITIS.
You know, for example arthritis... inflammation of the joints... hepatitis... inflammation of the liver... nephritis inflammation of the kidneys.
So, foods and herbs that can lower inflammation can actually help with kidney disease.
There's a polyacetylene in celery, a compound which is a natural anti-inflammatory.
Celery is also loaded with all the essential vitamins and minerals our body needs to recover.
There's folate, vitamin C, vitamin K, vitamin B6 and leutolin.
Leuteolin is what actually helped me with my skin problems.
Celery is just... unbelievably healthy for our kidneys.
But what is really helping me in lowering my creatinine levels day by day is its alkalizing property.
I want to spend a few more words on why the acid alkaline balance of the body is so important for our kidney health and creatinine levels.
First of all there are scientific studies proving that an alkaline diet lengthens our lifespan.
Yes, you live more if you eat more alkalizing foods, like celery, and less acidifying foods.
This is because alkalizing foods can prevent and cure chronic diseases.
Especially kidney disease: the kidney is the organ that's actually supposed to keep the acid alkaline balance of the body.
This is a lot of work, if you ask me, for an organ that's already impaired.
So, let's say that you eat a lot of red meat, a lot of cheese, and a lot of hydrogenated fats. And maybe you drink some coffee.
How do they call this... yes, they call it... the standard western diet.
I did just this for the first 40 years of my life. Not even my doctor... ever told me it was actually damaging my kidneys.
I mean, a steak with a side of lentils and a cup of coffee how bad can it be?
But it is.
Now, all these foods are acidifying and even just the fact that you're eating a lot of them, the quantity, makes the body even more acidic.
That's why I'm drinking celery juice. Celery is the most alkalizing food you can find.

Now, there's another thing I want share with you. Here, I have it on my phone.
It's because I want to have it always with me.
This is not just a simple book, it's not even just a program.
It's something that can completely change your life, like it has changed mine.
This is from the doctor that helped me reversing my kidney disease. He created it.
I got to talk to him, during my journey to reverse kidney disease.
He told me this: Tony, you will have to fight every day to conquer kidney disease, but I've seen people doing it.
Yes, this is where I found most of the advice that gave me the chance to make my kidneys heal.
Now, if you are here, if you watched this video till this point, you definitely already care about your health.
But maybe you can still use some help. So I'm leaving here the link to find exactly this, the same program that helped me.
You just have to click on the picture.
See you next time, thank you for watching.

How to Get Rid of Kidney Pain Fast and Naturally - the Holistic Kidney P...

Watch on Youtube - subscribe to 00kidney

Hello everyone, this is Katherine, welcome to 00kidney.
Today I'll show you how to get rid of kidney pain fast and naturally.
I'll take an holistic approach to kidney pain relief.
Because the truth on kidney pain is that, whatever the source of this back pain is, you can alleviate or totally get rid of it only if you know one thing: what is causing kidney pain.
Treating the symptoms of kidney pain alone, maybe taking some painkillers, is only going to make things worse, on the long run.
But, knowing kidney pain location and kidney pain symptoms we can absolutely treat it and, in most of the cases, we can get rid of it.
How? We need to understand why our back is hurting. We need to understand if there's a KIDNEY STONE causing back pain or if we have a KIDNEY INFECTION, or if we have kidney disease, a kidney failure or if it's just lower back pain caused by an injury, a muscle strain.
Each of these conditions is associated with different symptoms and requires a totally different approach.
Some of these are totally curable with home remedies, so keep watching this video if you want to avoid an expensive trip to the doctor.
And send it to your friends if anyone of them suffers from kidney pain or back pain, this video can help them.
Ok, let's start
Kidney stones are the most common cause of kidney pain.
How can we tell if the kidney pain symptoms we are experiencing are actually caused by kidney stones?
First, there's the location of kidney pain.
In case of kidney stones, "the pain is actually located in the area of the kidneys", up here and not down here
Usually, if the pain is in this area the cause of back pain is an injury.
A back injury would require a totally different treatment from kidney stones.
Also, "usually one side only" because kidney stones pain is in most of the cases just one side of the body.
"Kidney stones are usually recurring"
Now, kidney stones are recurring, so if you already had them and you are having kidney pain again, there's a good chance that the cause of kidney pain is kidney stones AGAIN.
But they can be prevented, and there are home remedies to pass kidney stones fast and without pain. So don't worry.
Now, the most important thing to know are the symptoms.
"Symptoms of kidney stones include:
- sudden, severe flank pain." The pain can fluctuate in intensity or come in waves, and can even radiate to the groin. This is because the stones are starting to move around the urinary tract, causing damage and this very intense pain.
Kidney stones can also cause other symptoms, like
" -Being able to urinate in small amounts only,
-Pain during urination
-Persistent need to urinate
-Nausea
-Vomiting
-Blood in the urine"
Now, see a doctor if you have blood in the urine or urinating becomes really difficult.
In this case, it means that the stones have blocked the urinary tract or are causing some serious damage.
You can only use home remedies if the situation is not this serious.
So, if the stones are small enough to pass by themselves, drinking lots of water will help.
A combination of Olive Oil, Lemon Juice and Raw Apple Cider Vinegar is one the best home remedies for kidney stones.
There's another thing that works exceptionally well, it's called chanca piedra.
It's an herbal remedy that can actually break down calcium oxalate kidney stones and make them pass easily and fast.
But, before you try it, we need to eliminate the other causes of kidney pain.
I really don't want you to rush buying home remedies for kidney stones just to understand afterwards that your KIDNEY PAIN was actually caused by a back strain.
Yes, these home remedies and herbal treatments work exceptionally well to prevent and pass kidney stones.
We'll get back to them in the end of the video, when you'll  be 100% sure that the problem is actually caused by kidney stones.
So let's see another very common cause of lower back pain: a back injury

"If the pain is caused by a muscular or skeletal problem", obviously we will need a totally different approach from what we would do with kidney pain. Now, this kind of back pain is very, very common, so I'll need to spend a few words on it.
HOW DO WE TELL IF IT'S KIDNEY PAIN OR A BACK INJURY?
Muscular or skeletal back pain is usually in a slightly "different location from kidney pain".
"The kidneys are located towards your back, in the lower part of the ribcage" ,and this makes difficult to tell apart kidney pain from muscular pain.
Kidney pain is usually in a higher position  and it's deeper, it's not near the skin, because the kidneys are inside the rib cage.
Now, the muscles are outside the rib cage, so the pain is located in a less deep area, closer to the skin.
So, if you feel the pain coming from inside the ribcage, it may be from the kidneys.
If it's coming from outside the ribcage, it's from the muscles.
"Unlike kidney pain, muscular pain may get worse... or get better... with movement"
"Massages and pain relief creams can alleviate it".
Obviously moving around and getting massages won't do anything for kidney pain.
So, basically, if you move around and the pain lowers or increases, then it's probably a muscular or skeletal problem.
If moving doesn't change things, it's probably the kidneys.
Also, muscular and skeletal pain do not present any symptoms related to kidney problems, so no other kidney symptoms.
"Common causes of back injury and lower back pain include muscle strains, herniated discs, sciatica,  arthritis"
All these conditions are to be treated differently according to their severity.

Ok, there's another common cause of kidney pain, kidney infection.
UTIs, urinary tract infection are very, very common... urethritis, cystitis are all UTIs... and usually are treatable.
"Kidney infections, also called pyelonephritis, are a type of UTI".
How can we tell if kidney pain is coming from a kidney infection?
If, in conjunction with kidney pain and not lower back pain  you are experiencing one of the following symptoms, probably there's a kidney infection.
"Symptoms include
-frequent urge to urinate
-burning sensation when urinating
-fever
-blood in the urine "
Now, a kidney infection is a pretty serious issue, especially in presence of high fever and blood in the urine.
So in this case talk to your doctor. He will be prescribing you an antibiotic.
"prescription antibiotics can cure UTIs"
Follow the full course of the antibiotic in case of a prescription.
"Don't let an UTI go untreated", kidney damage is not a remote eventuality in case of an UTI not effectively treated.
UTIs usually start in the bladder, but can reach all the urinary tract: the urethra, the prostate in men, the kidneys.

Now, chronic kidney disease can cause kidney pain too.
What we must understand is that, while kidney pain is a symptom of kidney disease, only patients in the advanced stages will experience it.
"So, only in the advanced stages.
Other causes of kidney pain are more common"
So if you only have kidney pain, the causes that I have mentioned earlier, kidney stones, kidney infections and back injuries are more probably causing the symptom.
In fact, for kidney disease to be able to cause kidney pain, the kidney must be swelling. This is a very severe, and not so common symptom, that only shows up in stage 4 and 5 of CKD, usually.
So if your back hurts, don't immediately think about kidney disease, unless you have "other symptoms of kidney disease, like Foam in the urine, Swelling in the hands and feet and urinating more or less than normal."
Now, if it's actually kidney disease that's causing the pain, it means that there's a severe fluid retention in the kidney itself. This could be caused by an excess of potassium, sodium and fluids in the diet.

By the way, there are cases in which a trip to the ER is absolutely needed. So contact your health care provider immediately if you're experiencing back pain or kidney pain in conjunction with the following symptoms: Severe stomach pain, Loss of bladder or bowel control, High fever, blood in the urine, fatigue or a constant, dull, one-sided pain in your back or side.
Don't try to make the pain pass with home remedies or just painkillers in these cases!
As I've told you in the beginning of the video, there are home remedies working to pass kidney stones fast and without pain. More info about them here
And, if you have kidney disease, I've made a very complete video about how to manage it.
You can find it up here
This is all for today! I hope this video was helpful. Thank you for watching.

Watch on Youtube - Subscribe to 00Kidney

TRANSCRIPT

Hello, welcome back to 00kidney.

Today we are going to prepare this delicious cauliflower rice.
It’s a great low carb meal idea for your renal diet.
Why cauliflower rice?
Cauliflower is an exceptionally healthy vegetable, AND its nutrition profile is quite AMAZING!

We are going to replace white rice with it, and the taste is quite
something! It’s a bit like rice, a bit like cous cous.. but spicy and
crunchy. I like it a lot!
Now, cauliflower has many health benefits, it contains some of almost every vitamin and mineral that your body needs.
We’re going to use it as our main ingredient to prepare this cauliflower rice, a yummy and easy keto meal idea.
Yes, this recipe idea is also suitable for a keto diet.
What is keto diet? It’s a low-carb, high-fat diet that provides numerous health benefits.

There are a lot of reasons why a kidney patients should try the keto
diet, especially if suffering from diabetic kidney disease.
However, this recipe is very healthy, try it even if you’re not on keto.
All the ingredients are low in sodium and potassium, so this is a perfect recipe for your renal meal plan.
We gonna use non GMO fresh veggies as our main ingredients, very healthy!
It’s also very cheap and tasty… but, most important, this recipe will help you to get your kidney diet back on track!

So, let’s see how to make this very easy cauliflower rice..
Today’s kidney disease diet recipe is really really easy and fast to make so… LET’S START!
Here’s what we’re going to use, the ingredients are for 4 servings.

-              Cauliflower as an healthier alternative to white rice,
I’m using about 250 grams of cauliflower… or a bit less than one cup
-              Half Eggplant
-              Half cup green beans
-              1 spring onion
-              2 cloves of garlic
-              2 Fresh chives
-              1 cup chicken breast
-              1 Zucchini
-              1 Carrot
-              1 tbs of Extra virgin olive oil
-              Pepper and black pepper
-              Lemon (as a condiment)
And some water

I
always recommend to buy fresh and organic vegetables. I’m not using
canned food or packaged foods, because they are full of sodium and
potassium and preservatives which you don’t want in your renal diet.

Ok, let’s see how to prepare this cauliflower rice.
You can use a food processor or a cheese grater
We want to make this recipe fast, so the easiest way is to use a food processor.
Now we are gonna prep our cauliflower.
Break the cauliflower into small pieces, like this…
And put the small pieces of cauliflower inside the food processor.
Turn on the food processor and mix.
Again, if you don’t have one of these, just use a grate. A bit slower but you can still make the cauliflower rice.
Done. Put the cauliflower rice in a skillet with some water and cook for about 5 minutes.

Now that our cauliflower rice is cooking, we’re gonna slice all the vegetables and the chicken breast.

dice the zucchini into cubes. Zucchini contain a bit of potassium but
they’re still very healthy, they’re known to support heart and
circulatory health, to lower sugar levels and to improve digestion.

We
want to dice the eggplant too. Another healthy vegetable, very rich in
antioxidants that will fight the inflammations in the body.

Today all the ingredients are going to be really healthy.

Dice the Carrot

Cut the Spring onion

Cut
the green beans like this. Green beans are great for a kidney disease
diet because they’re between the very few beans that are really low in
potassium. They are a good source of vitamin C, dietary fiber, folate,
vitamin K. So they are always a nice addition in our kidney diet.

Dice
the chicken breast. Chicken breast is an excellent source of low-fat,
high quality protein, the cornerstone of an healthy kidney disease diet.

In you renal diet, you have to avoid eating too much protein, because it’s heavy on the kidneys.
But you still need some. High quality protein helps protecting your kidneys.
Watch my videos about the kidney friendly diet to understand the right combination of protein foods for your renal diet.

Ok, put the diced chicken breast aside and
Cut the chives like this.
We gonna cut the cloves of garlic into small pieces.
done.
In a pan on medium heat, put some extra virgin olive oil.
Put inside the pieces of garlic and let it brown a little.
Then put the pieces of onion.
Now we’re gonna put our chicken breast and let it brown a little.
Then we’re gonna add the pieces of carrot.
Now add the zucchini, the green beans and the eggplant.
Squeeze half a lemon.

Add the pepper, the chives, and the black pepper. As you can see, we’re
using a lot of spices for seasoning so we don’t put salt in this
recipe.
This is a great way to control blood pressure. In kidney
disease patients, the kidneys cannot remove excess sodium and potassium,
and this can increase blood pressure.
The best way to avoid this
problem, is to stop putting salt in what we eat. So we use pepper, black
pepper chives and lemon to flavor the meal instead.
Stir a little bit and add some water to soften the vegetables, then let it dry.
Stir and Cover the pan.
When the water is completely absorbed stir a little bit more.

Ready! Hope you enjoy it! Thank you for watching, see you next Friday!
